We are all good and rushing around doing a million things at once, multi tasking and sometimes not even stopping to finish a complete cup of tea in a day. We grab pockets of time for ourselves on the go, checking emails while waiting in the car at the school pick up, replying to emails while waiting for a friend in a café, making a mental to do list while standing in the que at the supermarket. Then we make real time for all the other stuff in our life, work, house work, kids, family, friends, commitments we know we have to meet.
When I was in the supermarket today I saw a man doing his shopping with his headphones on. Maybe he was listening to music, an audiobook or a podcast. Was this the only time he had to do this in his busy schedule? It got me thinking when do we make time for ourselves? We rarely do sit and drink that cup of tea without thinking of others things we should be doing. We are good at making and scheduling time for things we don’t want to do but not for things we do want to do.
So this week I want you to schedule time for yourself. I have a busy week ahead, but I am going to schedule an hour on my day off on Friday to sit drink a hot cup of my favourite vanilla chai tea, read a book. Then I will get on with all the other stuff that requires my time and attention. What are you going to do for yourself this week? I would love you to leave me a comment to let me know.
